There is still time to sign up for the 2013 Wed night Telemark/Randonnee lesson series.

Are you begineer skier wanting to learn to Telemark or Randonnee ski? Or are you an experienced Telemark skier wanting to improve your technique? Perhaps you are an area alpine skier itching to get into the backcountry and want to learn alpine-style randonnee ski technique. If so, then sign up for multiweek ski lessons held on six consecutive Wednesday evenings 7:30-9:30 PM at the Summit-at-Snoqulmie. The Telemark ski class offers class sections at all levels of ability from beginning Telemark skiers with some ski background through advanced tele skiers. Telemark instruction emphasizes being balanced over your skis using free-heel techniques to help you have fun in the backcountry. The randonnee class offers instruction in alpine (fixed-heel) technique from beginner through advanced levels. Both class sections emphasis on skills specific for backcountry skiing, be it the steep, crud or powder, for maintaining balance and efficient technique. Lessons will be taught by the PSIA-affiliated Summit Learning Center instructors at the Summit-at-Snoqualmie in multiple sections graded by ability level. For the randonnee class, use of downhill gear is OK, but you may wish to bring releasable heels for practice working with that type of gear one week. Telemark class requires metal edge single-camber free-heel Telemark ski gear.
