Alpental still climbable?

Does anyone know if Alpy is opening soon? Or if there are any plans for avalanche control work Friday 12-7-12? Any restrictions at this point for skinning up chair 1 and or chair 2? Thanks!

You should go, crews will probably be on the hill next week at that time the skinning policy will be in effect

The rumor on the hill is that they will be opening Alpental next weekend. I would get your last alpy inbounds tou in before monday or tuesday when they will most likely start putting up roped and pads and starting control work. Just my personal opinion.

Good personal opinion.  Yes to Saturday and Sunday.
Monday the signs will go up and the tours will have to move to a new destination.  See Snoq. Mtn post for a little bit more info.

Interesting difference (I believe) between most places and Crested Butte... You can get an 'uphill pass' complete with photo card and lanyard just by signing up when buying any type of pass.   Just need to be headed down at opening bell.
