Garmont Insta Tele help was created by Team Wally
I've been in a twisted love hate relationship, with these boots, Garmont Endorphins for the past year. Love the walk walk mode for skinning and short hikes as well as standing around time some of my functions require, hate the alpine sole for it's slippery-nus, particularly on wet rock or pavers, not to mention ice, love the lugged sole everywhere. I have 2 pair, one with Lange heel and toes for my Alpine, frontside skis and a 2nd pair for touring and hiking. I seem to be plagued, both pair, with sloppy forward lean lock down. Today a firm, fast frontside turn produced a very loud pop and suddenly Insta Tele. Have had this now with both pair. Did I simply randomly get 2 sets of sloppy boots or has anyone else figured out how to tighten em up ?

"Gee, Wally, I wish I could learn to Tele that fast.  I've been struggling for 10 years."
complained the Beaver. Sorry I have nothing constructive to contribute, but let's ski sometime!

I've got a pair of Garmont Adrenalin's; had the same issues the few times I used them. When you engage forward lean, really lean into the boot hard, flip the switch, then relax your forward lean and listen for the positive engagement click, then give 'em a test rock back and forth. This cured the issue for me. Also, check and make sure all the screws are tight, including the ones holding the rod inside the boot.
Hope this helps.

When you say insta tele, do you mean that your heel came out of the binding?

On those boots, the two holes in the metal plate that create your forward lean in ski more are very close together and can break, or the metal between the two holes can blow out. When this happens it wears the pin that fits into the holes down creating slop. Also, the ankle cant adjustment can come loose, this also creates slop.

All of this can be fixed, I know there is a boot shop in Winthrop that does Garmont warranty work and will replace the walk modes.

Also, check the small screws inside the boot that hold the walk/ski mode switch to make sure they arent backing out.
