Here is the CPC(Climate Prediction Center)'s current evaluation of a coming El Nino. The indication is for drier than normal conditions in the NW for most of the next 6-8 months.

This correlates with Joedabaker's Squirrel Activity Index ( JSAI).
According to Joe, the JSAI has been very ,very low with the little bastards frolicking all through August and NOT getting their nuts sorted out.
The JSAI did increased by two points this last week but they are still only spending 50% of the time nutting and the rest of the time fighting with each other .
We're doomed! It's the end of Amar's " Golden age of summer skiing." :'(

While this is a bummer to see, I'm hoping this will pan out like the 09/10 El Nino Winter. Washington had a pretty solid snow year in 09/10. Hoping the usually dry spell doesn't happen this Jan. and Feb. and we get the banger start and ending that is typical with El Nino.

Head east of the crest in El Nino years, wrap around moisture from the storms in N CA and OR. Or not.
