Artists Point/Coleman Pinnacle Conditions Request was created by Robert Connor
I am thinking about heading up to Baker for some turns this weekend and was wondering if anyone had been out towards Coleman Pinnacle recently. The FS says the road is closed at the upper ski lodge. I don't know if they have started plowing the road or if it is possible to skin from the car or what. Any information would be great.
Thanks,
Robert

According to the DOT here (
www.wsdot.wa.gov/Northwest/Baker/ArtistPoint
) it is not quite open yet.

Today's paper says the road to AP will open Tuesday.
By the time it opens, it's common for there to be some carries along the south side of Table if you are heading to Ptarmigan Ridge if you are heading that way.

Thanks guys. The DOT flickr photos make it look like there is still lots of snow. We will see tomorrow.

In case anyone is wondering, there is plenty of snow up there. The clouds were solid at 5000', so we didn't get beyond Artist's Point and just lapped the chutes down towards Terminal Lake and Bagely Lake. The word suncup does not adequately describe the snow surface though. Sunbowls would be much more apt.
