Camping near St. Helens Climbers Bivouac? was created by Rusty Knees
Anybody know if there are areas to camp near the climber's bivouac area, in case the climber's area is full?
I kind of remember open clearcut areas off the main road, but my rememberer is subject to revisionism.
Thank you!

In the past, we just slept in our subaru; cooked on the snow bank. If it is like most NF, primitive camping is allowed anywhere (MSH is a Natiional Monument but admn by GPNF).

If you want to stay at the Bivouac, then go to the outhouse on the back of the paved loop (east side) there is a trail which goes back into the woods. A little known couple of spots back there.
Also just before you reach the Bivouac there is a pull out on your right which people back up into and camp behind their cars in the woods.
