Dogs allowed east of the crest, but not west, which is MRNP. So ... could ski half the loop about til the Dewey Lakes branchoff and then head back the same way, there are good slopes back there albeit short. Or Tahtlum. Or head to Sheep Lake (traversing part will be melted out and tricky, but once the trail starts climbing should still be ok). I've seen them ticket for dogs on the Park side of the Naches loop in the (snow free) summer.

I used to take my dog up there all over in the 90's but in the past 10 years they have been militant about dogs where they wouldn't even let my dog go on the snow on a snow covered parking lot. If you plan to do touring, don't take your dog. If your just going to hike up/ski down then stay on the east slopes and you should be ok.
This was 1993 with my brothers great dane at Chinook when dogs were not hassled.

I once made the mistake of parking in the west side / Tipsoo lake lot with my dog and got a $75 ticket from a NPS ranger when we returned. She told me that parked were I was she had to write me a ticket, but that if I had parked in east side lots I would be out of NPS patrol area and wouldn't have been ticketed. Some of the best runs are within the park boundaries, so regardless of where you park you could get fined for having a dog in the park --in the event that a NPS ranger was patrolling outside of the confines of the parking lot and picnic area.

According to the link:
Where are pets permitted at Mount Rainier?
Pets are permitted in parking lots, campgrounds, and on paved roads. While in these areas, pets must, at all times, be leashed or crated and with their owners.
This is true in most national parks. Although I'm sure most people, even rangers, would think you are in error if they saw a dog anywhere inside the park boundary.
The park boundary is clearly marked. So you should have no problem staying "legal". Just park at Chinook Pass proper and don't ski down to Tipsoo Lake.

One of my stops I had my dog on a leash, in the parking lot and I was asked to leave the area because the parking lot had snow on it. They told me if the parking lot has snow, it is not considered a parking lot. I guess the dog pee flows better on pavement then in snow. (lol) I thought that was a little ridiculous, but I've seen some goofy things up there over the years.
