Baker Routes, CD vs Squak was created by The_Snow_Troll
Our desire is to ski some sweet July corn on Baker and we're debating between the two routes. As we've climbed/skied neither we'd be interested in comments / experiences from folks that have skied both.

My impressions:
CD - Get to ski the Roman Wall (or whatever the real name is), shorter car-to-car, traverse-y in the middle
Squak - While not as steep as the Roman Wall, generally a more consistant fall line, longer car-to-car.

Both are big fun. I have always enjoyed the CD more - feels more wilderness-y, and I don't mind the traverse in the middle (keep speed up, really not an issue) and the forest at the end. However, if you're going without a route veteran in the party, the Squak may be a better choice - route-finding isn't terribly tricky coming off the CD taking the Grouse Creek exit, but errors can be a royal pain. And the standard climber's route has the issues of a longer hike out and the creek (bridge wiped out) at the bottom. The Squak/Easton route is cool, too, and the continued straightline off the Roman Wall (all respect to the Beckey correct description discussed here) down the Squak is at least as fun as the CD. The ski out can get soupy but does take you nearly right to the road. The snomos make it feel more urban is my only beef. You'll have a ball wherever you go.

When we did the Squak, we connected with the main Railroad grade route, so those that made it to the top skied the Roman Wall face. We connected in at about 8500' or so.

Anyone have recent info on whether skiing via Grouse is still in?

Either.  Tough choice.  Depends on where you're driving from, will you be camping on the hill?  I prefer the squock side for skiing but I haven't been higher than the big crevasse at about 9000'.  C-D is yeah traversing with a couple bowls.  Roman wall froze up on us in high winds so wasn't that great for skiing anyway.

I'd go crag view/ squock depending on where you're driving in from.  Better skiing if the summit is a bust.  Especially if you can camp on the hill.

C-D is more aesthetic. First the forest. Then up to the Hogsback, a cool feature (*assuming you take the summer trail). Then you get to go along with the views up to the Black Buttes on your right, and finally curl around to totally different views.

Squak or Easton, you pretty much just go that way toward that summit which is way farther away than it appears.

They're both great, though.

Re the comment about sleds, they should be gone by now, right?
