Frostbite, in the middle of June, in my livingroom was created by blackdog102395
So I'm now in the running for this year's Darwin awards. Short story shorter: ice pack slipped below my shirt and was in direct contact with lower back for 25-minutes or so this morning. I know, stupid >
Anyway, warmed it up slowly and its moved from greyish-white to red, swollen and angry. My biggest concern now is blisters. I'm scheduled to spend 5 days touring the east side of Rainier starting on Wednesday and I'm concerned about my pack tearing the spot all up. This probably could have been avoided if I had a "Safety Meeting"
.
Knowing that message boards are always the best and most accurate source of medical information, any advice for aiding healing and heading off potential blisters?

Sounds like something I would do right before a big trip... I think the bad news is that the damage has already been done. I definitely wouldn't f with it. Try to keep it clean, dry and just hope for that it heals quick!
Good luck

Wow, bad luck. Keep anything from rubbing it, don't do anything like bench pressing lying on a bench, wearing a wetsuit, or wearing a pack before Wednesday, and call tomorrow and get an appointment with a physician who knows about serious skin injuries like frostbite. Some family physicians are all over it, but it could mean a clinic visit with a trauma/burn surgeon, a dermatologist, or a plastic surgeon. You will probably need an antibiotic impregnated or bacteriostatic bio-occlusive dressing placed over it before you leave to prevent rubbing inducing infection.
