The plot thickens...

As Gary points out the May 11 Opening Schedule calls for Sunrise to open 6/22...

but now the Park Operating Hours page (unfortunately updated on 6/4/12) calls for Sunrise to open on 6/29.

I was really looking forward to doing the Sourdough Chutes and the associated tail gate parties on 6/23 & 24.
I hope someone just forgot to update the Park Operating Hours page to the earlier date.  ::)

For some reason, I thought I remembered reading that the road would open the 22nd, but the visitor center would not until the following week, similarly the White river CG is also scheduled to open the 29th.   But now it says on the road status as of yesterday that the opening is the 29th.  Boo.

Tear down the gates; sell the plows; melt down those brass buffalo badges for cartridges!    ;)

Track N Go looks like the way to access Sunrise & Paradise in the future after the guviment collapses:

Looks more limited than a snowmobile, but possibly cheaper.  Think of all the remote places you could get stuck in with a big load of paying passengers.  Could be pretty high maintenance with all those moving parts, tho; one of them should probably be a mechanic...

Silas already has a snowcat that would work great for hauling a group up -- but he needs a big truck to tow it from Mt Vernon -- the Suby is not up to the task.
