Giving back Alpental once again to the climbers, skiers and riders. We have just finished tearing down the unsightly mess we put up every fall and won't be doing any more avalanche mitigation unless something crazy comes up... I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has tried to accept and comply with our winter uphill travel restriction. We did have a few this week that just couldn't seem to get the message even though Monday and Tuesday we were still cutting off some pretty sizeable wet loose slides. (probably the same guys that cut you off on the highway and then give you the finger). I always feel lucky when we make it through those days without inadvertently hosing someone. You will probably see an even bigger effort next year to get the message out and sadly, even more signs. Still great snow cover so I'm certain there will be quite a bit of uphill use from now on. As always, please just be sensitive to the facilities and our staff's safety. We again have some on-mountain project work. Remember that the chairs can start at anytime and that there will be workers around the place, including snowcats. Thanks again. -G
