I'm planning a trip in the next month or so and hoping to get some beta. Has anyone here skied down Crystal Creek, Porcupine Creek, or either of the unnamed drainages between them? How is the terrain? On the map, Porcupine Creek looks wide open but the others look like they may bit a bit narrow.

Thanks,
-Josh

I've never skied down these drainages, but got a good look at them from Earl on Sunday. Maybe this photo will help:

or perhaps someone else up at Earl this weekend has a better photo. Most of the lower portions looked melted out but perhaps there were snow fingers hidden behind terrain features. I've wondered about those exits too and would appreciate a report if you do go!

Years ago, entered the 'Chants in March via Crystal Creek after walking up Ingalls Creek. Snow in the valley bottom gave way to hiking up game trails and through boulder fields into the hanging valley between Annapurna and McClellan. We could ski from there. I'd bet most any exit now would involve walking instead of skiing the lower portions to Ingalls Creek.

Yes, it looks like the drainages are already pretty melted out at the bottom. Porcupine Creek seems to be in a bit better shape than the others. Thanks for the photo, that was very helpful.
