Escape on Skis - Brian Meredith was created by Edgesport
I am fascinated by the pioneers of ski mountaineering so when I saw an old hard bound book with the title "Escape on Skis" on the shelf of my local used book shop I cracked it open and knew I had to have it.  It wasn't cheap but then it has been out of print for a long time.  I have never heard of the author "Brian Meredith" but the book appears to have been written in late 30's.  There is no published date inside the cover and apparently no copyright so anyone who is interested in reading it will find it printed on line.

This is fabulous! I can't believe somebody other than Lowell posted a really cool historical perspective. The online version is pretty amazing. The pictures are stunning in their B&W clarity and contrast. Good find! It's a cross between a "Mike & Allen's" and Father Skis Best.

The writing is clear and concise
There's nothing the images lack,
With a touch of the Bard,
And some old fashioned charm
This book may be as old as Mack!
