That's great, but his skins aren't even sticking to the ski because he has snow on his bases.

One year I practiced that a bunch then tried it at Vertfest. I didn't get the skins on straight, slipped on a hard section, and three guys passed me. There's a reason all the rando racers take their skis off to apply skins.

He could have saved a bunch of time by not taking his pack or gloves off, BTW.

Guy's a rank amateur. He made numerous transition mistakes.
As greg says, gloves on shows he is but a beginner.
I would beat him at transition time.

He's not bragging, he's not racing, he doesn't appear to be in any sort of hurry, and he says it works despite the snow sticking to his skis. He's a guy with a long history on that forum, and has not generally been prone to wild exaggeration or bluster.

Decide for yourselves: www.telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=82906&start=30 . The thread is worth reading from the start for unrelated reasons.

Trying to understand what the rush is. On the down, maybe to get in another run before dark? Transitioning from up to down, what about the time needed for getting the heart rate to under 150, a smoke, a glass of wine with cheese and taking in the view? I don't even bend that way without falling down.
