So what's a reasonable go/nogo line for wind on rainier? It looks like it's going to be sunny, but quite windy down there and I'm wondering if its' worth the trip from bellingham. Does 50 mean 50 or does 50 mean 30 with gusts to 70?

I'm still learning my benchmark but I think 20 max is plenty for me. Started a specific thread about this, curious to see what others benchmarks are.

Are you looking at the forecast temperature?  Forecast winds are in the single digits for Paradise, 30s for Muir, 50 for the summit.  I, myself, personally, given clear skis, would venture to the Snowfield because the snow should be firm and it is easy to turn back.  As suggested above, review the thread with Amar talking about the winds.
