BC Parks is seeking public input for their Garibaldi Park Management Plan Amendment. The input is limited specifically to Spearhead Range (behind Whistler and Blackcomb ski areas) and if you care about that area please voice your concerns.
Large parts of the Spearhead have a heli-skiing tenure by Whistler Heli-skiing and their licence is coming up for renewal.

Anyway it is one of the few easily accessible alpine areas for those without access to helicopters or sleds along the Sea-to-Sky corridor. It has seen quite a bit of increase in use by the self-propelled crowd and conflicts are already becoming a problem. People have had the slope they were heading for heli-skied five minutes before they made it to the top on their own. The noise can be a problem too.
