Just picked up a new Mont-Bell Spiral Down Hugger Long 15 degree bag from 2nd Ascent. Was wondering if anyone has experience with them either good or bad?

Thanks in advance!

I moved this over to Random Tracks -- probably get more eyes here.

I have this bag and love it. It's super lightweight and packable. It's got open baffle/tube, if I remember right, which lets you move the down around and get it all up top. That's a nice touch, especially since the bag isn't exactly over-stuffed. I've been warm in it in colder spring temps, but I also usually pack it in a lightweight bivy sack and use that, even if I'm in a tent.

Marcus, I've nailed it down to one of the Montbell bags or the Feathered Friends Puffin for my wife. She does not like the tight foot quarters on typical mummy bags so this is why we are looking at the Feathered Friends Puffin. How is the Montbell as far as leg room? Do the spiral seems actually work as advertised?

It's definitely on the "stretchier" side for the legs, but it's still a fairly narrow cut. I'm usually a back sleeper so the narrow fit doesn't bother me as much, but I've been pretty comfortable flopping about and stretching out on slow mornings in the Montbell. I've also been able to comfortable keep my intuition liners down in my bag, which take up a lot of space.
