+1 for the Nikwax. You can't use that in the field, but it's more effective than any in-the-field skin treatment I've seen.

I use and like Nikwax Ski Skin Proof, a liquid wax.

I have been using ARMORALL for over 10 years to keep snow from sticking to my skins...
works great. Like the liquid Nikwax, works better if you put it on the night before and let it dry but still ok in the field. And it’s a lot cheaper than the liquid Nikwax.
Costco used to sell it in big 28oz spray bottles but I haven’t seen it there in quite a while; might need to find a new discount supplier.
Let me know if you see any deals on it… I’m almost out

Also for any newbie lurkers...be aware of what you are walking on. I used to throw the skis on out of the lot and often times the snow there holds a lot of water content and other crap...literally. Wax the skins heavy Anywhere there is a vast amount of saturated water snow at a lower elevation and potential colder snow higher. or take a rest in the sun (if your lucky) to dry them once you reach colder snow elevations. Also the water crossings or blue puddles need to be mindful about too.
More also's...be aware of how long you are standing in one place on the skins. Often times for me the snow will start to melt in and adhere to the skins. I assume the warmth stored in the material from the friction of walking. If I am standing around a bit I will move my skis fore and aft to make sure nothing is starting to cling.
I like Randy's suggestions, they seem to work for me.
I have not tried RonJ's idea in fear that the product would deteriorate the glue if it gets to saturated on application. But it sounds like he has had good results in the long term.
