Questions about White Pass

This weekend my friends and I are going to White Pass to check it out. We are seasoned backcountry skiers, and avi conditions permitting I was wondering about the face that drops off the Northwest side of the ski area back down to Highway 12. Is there a gate? Is it do-able?(looks do-able).
I have heard of the woes that White Pass has had with people ducking the ropes in the past, I also know that if the state trooper sees you on the road he'll give you a ticket.

If any one has words of wisdom on this topic, and/or any advice about White Pass in general and it's neighboring Backcountry it would be greatly appreciated. 

There is probably enough snow now to ski down to the highway. Have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for being on the highway and walking back up to the resort. That face you are referring to is under a cliff band and is kind of hard to get to and doesn't ski as nice as it looks. The best skiing is in the trees where the snow is protected. At the bottom there is a stream that parallels the hiway you must cross or there is a small lake you must get around farther down depending on where you come out.
Right now the bc you can see from the top of the great white terminal is pretty good. There is a gate from chair 6 to enter from. good luck it was pretty good today with wind buffed pow in the bowls and soft in the trees.

Actually, State Patrol has been giving out tickets on HWY 12 for walking back to resort...
