Quick tours off I-84 / I-15 / I-80 ?

We're driving to Colorado for the holidays - are there any quick tours close to the interstate we might use to break up the drive?

We're thinking about XC laps at Anthony Lakes, but if there's touring to be had, that'd be rad.

Any meadowskipping in Northern Utah? Snowline too high?

Anything along 80 in UT?

I hear the Elkhorn Range has touring. I think there is a snowcat operation based out of Anthony Lakes ski area.

There is a sno-park off of I84 between Pendleton and LaGrande. Mt Emily Summit Sno-Park . I have no idea what the snow conditions are like right now.

Anthony lakes is good and has lots of cool looking runs around. We stopped in for an afternoon last year and just lapped the area (not running no one around) since it was 12" of fresh. There's cool chutes around lookers right of the area that i'd head for next time...

Wallowas are a bit farther out of the way, but also very fun.

Are you driving through Salt Lake City? Can't beat the Wasatch for quick road side touring.

SLC Little Cottonwood, Drive past Snowbird and Alta then park on left side of road. Great moderate to advanced touring. Skin up to ridgeline that parallels road. Hit runs off backside.

I drove to Joseph(wallowas) once. It was a long detour, I probably will not repeat. It's pretty far off the main highway.
