Methow Valley Places to Stay was created by pabloson
Hello,
My wife and I would like a few days to explore this area. Can anybody recommend a place to stay that is moderate (or less) in price. We already live in a yurt so no yurts please!
thanks (already searched the archives)

If it's just the 2 of you, a hotel would be the most economical, as opposed to a cabin. Try River Run Inn, Mt. Gardner Inn and Chewuch Inn, all decent, in Winthrop with good owners. The owners of the first and third of these ski in the back country and might have tips. FWIW, I live in Winthrop.

We've stayed there lots; we prefer closer to Mazama than to Winthrop; our favorite place is
Timberline
but we also liked the old cabin at
Mazama Ranchouse
. We prefer to cook most of our meals.

No prob. And we lived in a yurt for our first 10 years in Winthrop. It's a lovely way to go, but I understand the desire to vacation to solid walls and ceilings.

We really like Spring Creek Ranch, just outside of Winthrop. We've stayed in the Spring Creek Ranch Cabin, which is great for two. Looks like they've also added another small cabin since the last time we visited. We've usually stayed there in the fall (prime mountain biking season). If you're interested in doing any cross-country skiing, I believe there's a ski trail right outside your door.
