Not sure what "broke" on your binding, but from your description of "hyper extended position" it sounds like what happened to me in my 1980s vintage toe piece. Somehow I pulled it up and way past its normal touring position. It took several blows of increasing force for me to slap it back down. I thought I would break it but it survived.
I used a non collapsing pole with the handle against the lever (sort of like a giant carpenters nail set) and some sort of heavy implement to hammer on the tip of the pole til the lever snapped back to the down hill ski position. If this was your problem this solution may work......... or it may break the lever. That was a disclaimer, if you break it you can't sue me.
You might ask the forum if there is someone with a parts binding that you can scavange parts from and with a little handy work breath life back into your set up. Good luck.

I also had the same problem with early TLT. (pink) Replaced it with later model TLT plastic toe flips which are a little beefed up. I got from Salewa. (good service)
Can't remember but I'm thinking it was inexpensive.
IT does help to get them pictures for model identification take a picture of the one that is still good . Then get on the phone to order/ pay to speed the process up.

Al,
I have an extra lever from a TLT Speed/Classic that you can have. PM me if you need it.

For what it's worth, the same thing happened to me last Monday.
I had to leave my boot in my ski for the ride home. But once I got the ski on a bench, I got a screwdriver under the springs beneath the boot and pried the pins open by lifting that mechanism. Nothing appears to be broken.

Thanks Plinko...
unfortunaly, I snapped my board in half yesterday, so I have nothing to mount them on anyways. Plus now I need the plastic peice that the crampon attaches to as well.
As far as what broke, and please excuse my lack of dynaspeak,
when you flip the plastic lever from ski to tour, there is a spring loaded pin that slides out and into a differant notch in the plastic. this pin popped out, allowing the lever to easily hyperextend. I got home and tried to put the pin back in, but the 'notch' is no longer there.
I can't be sure if the pin just popped out, and I am the one who destroyed the notch while trying to use a whippet in between teh toe of my boot, and the touring lever.
it still works, but too much forward pivot of my boot and the binding too easily pops back into ski mode. I assume this pin and spring dealy is a sort of release mechanism for touring mode. so I basically have my touring din set to 1.
