I know this is not backcountry related news, but I also know that there are plenty of Stevens Pass regulars here, myself included. The Seattle Times is reporting that
Stevens Pass has been sold.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what this news might mean long term? I can see potentially postive things like passes good at both areas, but I can also see negatives like higher ticket and pass rates. I don't know what it might mean for Stevens' planned expansion. I have not skied regularly at the Summit at Snoqualmie in quite a few years, so I don't have much opinion about that ownership group.

I merged these two posts, FYI.
Curious to see what this will do for Stevens, not that I've been there with any regularity recently. Wasn't it owned by a pretty good sized company already? I guess Harbor is big but local, at least...

Stevens was purchased by CNL but they do not run the resorts they buy, they make long term lease agreements with ski operating companies. Boyne has the lease on Snoqualmie but that does not mean Boyne will run the lease on Stevens in the future. I don't see Harbor lasting long there though since they are an investment group and not a ski operation company. Wait and see.

Thanks for that, I didn't really understand the difference between the two entities.
Definitely curious how it will affect season pass pricing. It's almost like you could make a case for either an increase or a decrease.

I would like to go on record as supporting any case for reduced pass pricing.Definitely curious how it will affect season pass pricing. It's almost like you could make a case for either an increase or a decrease.
