I've been playing around with the National Snow Analyses done by the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center of the United States National Weather Service. They run a daily models for snow depth, snow and non snow precipitation, snow pack temp sublimation, condensation, density and snow pack temperature across the whole nation.
They matched up well enough with my field observations last weekend and I look forward to verifying them more...does anyone else have any experience with them?

Zooming and panning can be slow with the data loaded so it is best to navigate to your area of interest before loading data or clear the data layer before navigating between areas.

Which provides some online viewers, animations and kml files for use with google earth etc.
