Definitely worth checking on. I used Scarpas with Dukes and Jesters for a couple of years, for some reason the right boot would hang when releasing. Had no problems with Langes or Garmonts. Go figure. I did learn that the radius on the heel of the boot gets chewed up quickly. you might check the TGR gear board. I took a dremmel tool to mine and rounded the 90 degree edge which smoothed things out. I have found I can run the preload just slightly looser, ie let the screw show a little more. The preload has the most affect on TOE release so be sure and have the shop check that as well. The Jester toe does not have a lot of elasticity, once it starts to pivot it doesn't return to center if un weighted, also no diagonal release. Bottom line is they seem to have a window in which they work super well, it may take a little fiddling to get 'em just right.

concur with pretty much all that's been posted here. the design of the maker royal series heel relies on a noticeably smaller distance than your boots bsl to have the correct amount of fwd pressure. The plus side is ive found them to have a solid amount of elastic travel which helps to keep you in but they can be a royal PiTA to get back into when its deep n soft and set on a high din level.
And did i read correctly that you took your brand new DPS into REI for a mount? Braver man than I

That was your first mistake. REI really shouldn't be trusted... especially with DPS skis. Next time take them to Feathered Friends.
Good luck with your issue.

I just had a pair of DPS skis mounted with Jester bindings at REI the other day. I picked them up thinking REI knows what they're doing
