Snoqualmie pass snowshoe was created by haggis
Sorry for the non-turns topic.
My parents are flying in form Scotland this week and might take them for a showshoe walk up at the pass, they can't ski. This early in the season which routes might be accessible. Looking for something not too steep and manageable. Reckon the commonwealth basin walk would be way too brushy right now.
Any quick suggestions around 3-5 miles or so?
Thanks

North side of I-90, across from Hyak, FR 9090 up toward Kendal Lks is a nice snowshoe that isn't steep and has some nice views in freshies.

The John Wayne Trail along Kechelus is flat and an easy out and back.
I'm thinking by next week there will be 3+ft of snow along the Commonwealth trail and the brush shouldn't be a problem. Probably the best bet for getting away from the sights of the freeway close in by the pass.

Thanks, that was the other option that came to mind after I wrote this. MIght try the Commonweath in a couple weeks.

One suggestion would be to go up the FS road to the top of Hyak. This brings up you about 1000 feet and delivers some nice views when the weather is clear. Figure a couple of hours with a snack/drink on top. You can also add a loop out to Hyak lake to extend the trip. Some nice old growth sized trees out there.
