Looking 4 Old Analog Beacons was created by skimac
Hi I am looking for two older analog beacons to be used in an avalanche education class. I hope your still not using yours! If you can part with one please let me know you will be helping others understand how beacons work. It would be great if someone has an Ortovox F-1 siting around they could part with.
Thanks
Chuck

Chuck - I have two old Ramers you can have, they work fine with each other, may need new batteries. Send the address and I will ship to you.

The following ad was posted on the
www.methownet.com
bulletin board in the Methow Valley. Might be worth a call to Peter to see if they are still available:
2 Ortovox F2's: These are older, dual frequency tranceivers (mfg. 1991 and 1996) Searching is done through an audio signal only (no visual display) with an earphone. These were the standard for many years. With a little practice, searching can be completed quickly. Use 2 AA batteries.
The dual frequency means it transmits on the current standard frequency (457 kHz), as well as the old standard (2275 kHz) that is no longer used.
These would be great if you want some extras, or are not ready to spend the $300 or so for a new device.
Includes one Ortovox manual. I will show you how to use them.
$50 for the pair.
