You could try heating up the old glue and smearing into an even coat using parchment paper, like this guy...

It helps to warm up the Gold Label ahead of time by immersing it in hot water. It flows on better and leaves a more uniform coating. Consider applpying blue tape to the plush side of the skins before doing anything. Old and new glue seems to get everywhere.

Thanks for all the feedback. My skins aren't dirty; the glue is just flat in those areas and no longer sticky. I wasn't planning on removing glue, but hoping to just add some in those specific areas; sounds like Gold Label (sounds like a condom
) is the way to go. Thanks and any more application advice welcome.

I've used the transfer sheets with success, but found that if I do a light paper bag melt and clean then do a full melt and roll with scrap transfer paper that I can make the old glue as good as new with no cost involved.

I've touched up the tails of my BD splitboard skins several times with BD Gold Label and it works like a champ. Be careful how much you add though, cause the skins can be a bit of a bear to pull apart if you get too much on there. I also add a bit to the sides in spots where the glue wears as needed....

F/U Report: Thanks again for the BD Gold Label suggestions. Applied easily without any real mess using a putty knife and rag to wipe knife clean. Let it dry two nights and took out today and the skins were good as new!! Thanks Muchos and I highly recommend.
