Adams

Does anyone have any info on Mt. Adams conditions right now? Sounds like the road is open to the south climb trail head, I'm more curious about the mountain itself. I'm considering skiing it this weekend if the weather doesn't turn to complete poo.

If you go, consider preparing for windscoured ice up high. Given reports from Muir and our recent experience on the Flett, it's a possibility. On Adams in November '08, boilerplate led one of us to take a long ride down the south side. The same day, we found good snow lower on the mountain.

It's virtually assured that:
1. The weather will be poo for climbing volcanoes this weekend
2. There will be lots of boilerplate/bulletproof ice above the Crescent Glacier
