Mark and Cathy have a very helpful website, almost like a guidebook for European ski touring. This page applies to worldwide backcountry touring:

I know these guys...they are wonderful people and top-notch guides. Kathy was the first IMGA (I think) female mountain guide in the world, so she got skillz! Mark is from the West Side, so a local to many of us, and also a very proficient mountaineer. They used to be based out of Bishop. Currently living in Chamonix, last I heard.

I had a GREAT ski tour of the the Haute Route with Kathy and Mark. They are excellent, knowledgeable guides!
