No, you are misinterpreting what you are seeing. I rode it just fine and I have dismounted and am holding it down while Rob dismounts. Then you have to grab the trailing rope which is on one side and dictates who must be the last to dismount and gradually let the lift rise by playing it out through your hands, If you just jump off it will spring into the air and get tangled and the lift op will get pissed and call you a "puta".
