Hi all, I usually try to avoid Whistler, but I was contemplating using the lifts to get up to the Spearhead Range this weekend. With the new parking laws in place, it looks like a fee of $81 CAD would be charged to park my car there for 3 nights!!!! I called many hotels wondering if I could use unused stalls and was quoted anywhere from $20-30 per night to park!! This is just outrageous!!

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO PARK OVERNIGHT IN WHISTLER FOR FREE??? Or at a reasonable rate???

That sucks so much. I heard that next winter there will be no free parking in Whistler even for the day.

Wal-Mart in Squamish and hitch??? Shrugging my shoulders otherwise.

Wal-Mart! Ha,ha. Why didn't I think of that!

Just got a call from the Municipality of Whistler who "controls" all the lots now. She stated to me that lots 4-5 remain free for the time being, and you are allowed to park overnight as long as the vehicle is unattended.

What was confusing me was this statement taken from the WB website. "In the summer (May 1 through November 14) overnight parking will be available in Day Lots 1-5. The 24 hour parking rate is $26.75."

I think you are right Gregg, the days of free parking in Whistler are coming to an end...

I am taking a big guess here.

Find some place up Cougar Mountain Road about 8 or 10 miles north of Whistler. Park your car. Ride your bike back. Find a place to lock your bike...for a long time....or you could walk down from your car parking on Cougar Mountain Road and catch a bus on that development on the north side and middle of Green Lake.
