Brenda Metz Memorial Celebration - Sat 7/16

On Saturday, March 16, Mike put on a really nice celebration of Brenda’s life with fully catered food, wine and a full keg of Mirror Pond ale. It was great to see all the folks that attended. Scores of people from Brenda’s work and other activities attended, including maybe 10% of the roughly 200 attendees being Brenda and Mike’s skiing acquaintances. Lots of family too, from both Brenda and Mike’s side. I got to meet Brenda’s two sisters who have the same radiant smile as Brenda… must be a family trait :)Mike’s brother had written a touching poem about Brenda, which he read to the crowd and Mike told the story of how he and Brenda met and got married in somewhat short order – a rather romantic story, which Brenda had always discouraged him from telling.

It was a great shindig. I think everyone there was really glad they attended.

Thanks for the pics Ron, and thanks to all who attended. Brenda always enjoyed a good party, and I'm certain she would have approved of this one. I was so happy that the weather cooperated - except for the one squall. There was some serious panic at the house that morning, as this season's lousy weather pattern continued to persist.
