How to get pollen off skins was created by Jake the Brit
I've got a pretty thick coat of pollen on my board & skins.
The board I've heard can be cleaned using RainX wipes, & then new wax.

The skins however I don't know what to do with, if it's left there, will snow clump up and adhere to the skins??
All advice gratefully received
Thanks
Jake

I'd hot-wax and then immediately scrape the skis -- that should get the bases pretty clean.

Skins... that's harder. You can try to scrape it off maybe, with the grain?

Hotwaxing the furry side of the skins works to clean them as well.  To remove excess wax, follow the iron with a scraper for a couple of passes and then something to absorb the excess wax while it is still liquid.  A thick wad of paper towels can work -- though old cloth diapers or old T-shirts / rags will generate less lint.   Be careful not to burn your hands wiping the with the rags.    BTW wax filled rags make excellent fire starters -- so don't leave them lying around the shop.

Also attach the skins to the skiis while doing this and let them cool fully before attempting to remove -- while the skins are hot the glue is very soft and sticky. I usually just leave them on -- ready to go for the next trip -- in fact sometimes when my glue is getting old and no so sticky anymore I'll iron them on before a trip -- so they will at least stay on for the first climb.

Plain old citron cleaner and a cloth.

I got a huge bottle from ProSki and it seems I'll have enough for years. But the stink is weird...

I just used some dry paper towels to remove the gooey black Pilchuck Pollen from my skis, worked fine.  A scraper might have been a bit quicker.  Not using chemicals, it appears that a new hot wax is unnecessary. Since my skins are black, I'm not sure what concerns I should have about them; my daughter did use them the day after Pilchuck Pollen without issues.
