Anyone skied the phantom recentlt? Any info about snow level on south face of Mt. Snoqualmie would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pete

I skied it last Saturday.  The Phantom itself still goes consistent down to the waterfall, then there's ~100-200ft of down climbing in the trees through the lower cliffs and continuous snow to the lot.

Thanks Mofro -- looks like it's time to go hunt for my ski...

Marcus, I know Drew found one up there on may 27th, and I had my eyes open looking for the other one on the way up and down but only had a broad sense of where it might be. The upper slopes on Snoq had seen significant wet slide activity sometime in the prior 48 h before we went up last Saturday- huge piles of debris all across the transition right @ 5K.

Skinning up through the trees adjacent the waterfall isn't really possible right now, plan on booting up to 3.8-4K to skin the open slopes of the Phantom.

Good deal, thanks -- yeah, Drew found Roj's ski (undamaged and good to go). There's a ton of terrain to cover for where mine might be... sounds like it could well be under the newer wet-slide crap too...

Ah well, I'll get to know the Phantom in the summer, worst case scenario :)

Marcus,

Not that I'd expect to find more than one kind of ski, but what is your ski? I live up there and can take a bad weather day to hike around and explore up there. Or if you want some company while doing the same.
