Exactly... one has to understand the almost Kafkaesque bureaucracy of the NPS to realize although well intentioned.. it may have the opposite effect.

Even Wikipedia agrees with me:

Good idea.

Being a northwest boy does make me miss the place... and since this idea of me being the Superintendent keeps coming up - I better address it. To be clear, the Supt job at Rainier is not in the cards for me this time around - though it would be nice if things were different.

Anyway, my position at Yosemite keeps me quite busy and there are plenty of climbers and skiers to help and work with down here!! BTW, if you get down here, look me up or find me on the rock. Really everyone, I'm absolutely and totally flattered - so thank you all very much.
