We Love You Brenda

Brenda Metz, lifelong soul mate, vivacious backcountry ski partner and beloved wife to Michael Metz (md2020 on this forum) passed away unexpectedly this past week from complications arising from intended routine surgery. Brenda’s beautiful smile and beautiful personality will always be with us. Our heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to Michael, their friends and families.

A memorial service for Brenda will be planned later. The date and time will be posted here later for those that would like to attend.

OMG! What a shock! She was so full of life. We're so sorry, Michael.

Mike, I am stunned and saddened. Brenda was such a nice person, a real do-er, and an obviously great companion on your shared adventures and in your life. I am so sorry for your, and our, loss.

I will never forget the times I skied with her in the mountains. The picture is from a trip to Third Burroughs in June of 2009.

Oh no, that is so sad.  We ran into Brenda and Mike several times on tours over the years, e.g., Mt. Catherine, Fortune, WA Pass area.  Brenda exhibited a real love for the mountains and it was always a delight to encounter her.  I convey my sympathies to Mike, Brenda's family and her friends.

ETA: Mike posted some great pics of Brenda on this TR .  Ran into GregL's group up there.  Lovely day.  Brenda made some beautiful turns and whooped it up in the big old growth silvers on the N side of Catherine.

I'm so sorry Mike. It was always a treat to see Brenda flying down the hill in that sweet stance, the brim of her hat flipped up backward over her forehead. That's how I'll always remember her.
