5/ 26 - "Endless Winter" (Mammoth)

- Mammoth is a Los Angeles resort and they kinda dubbed the term "Endless Winter" from the legendary surf movie, Endless Summer. This year it is definitely an Endless Winter! It hasn't gotten warm enough, yet for the backcountry to make the transition to our typical spring/ early summer snow. All we need is for the storms to revert back up into OR, and you guys, WA.    oh well, endless winter... a sidenote - the same for Shasta

This year it is definitely an Endless Winter! It hasn't gotten warm enough, yet for the backcountry to make the transition to our typical spring/ early summer snow. All we need is for the storms to revert back up into OR, and you guys, WA. 

Same here in Washington thanks for the offer on the weather, but we have had our share of storms. Its hard to get 3 sunny days in a row. Heck even one.

Weren't we all begging for La Nina to come visit just a few months ago?    :

Thoroughly enjoyed our almost-annual trip down your way this week; however, the "endless winter" was "endless wind" this week. Enjoy that corn when the wind dies down - it'll be around for a while.

funny .. earlier this morn i was looking for some place else to go .. i checked out conditions in the eastern sierras .. being a newbie to skiing and really only more interested in climbing .. we were hoping to get into ritter early this year .. but yeah .. they are still operating at mammoth and it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon b4 we can go in fm there ... it's all about skiing there baby .. fm june lake i presume?
