Be Careful!

There is a big load on a very deep snowpack. Avalanches that go deep are not survivable. If you plan on skiing anywhere, be very careful.

I would stay out of the backcountry for a while. I have been buried and it is no fun.

when was that photo taken?

Taken many years ago on Kempers Mt. Rainier National Park from Crystal Mt. Very similar conditions that caused the big slides this year.

After spending some time in the Baker BC today...I think this is very good advice.  I think it will be pretty spooky out there until the new snow comes down.  Saw natural and triggered slides on all aspects today (some running ~800 vf and entraining significant snow), and it is only going to get warmer as the weekend progresses.  We left early.
