Advice on avy beacon

I'm new to BC skiing and looking to buy my first beacon. Any advice on which one to buy? Based on what I've read thus far on this, the PIEPS Freeride would not be a good option for a beginner. I plan on taking the avy class, but want to get the beacon ahead of time.

The best beacon is the one you know how to use, and the tracker is pretty much as easy to use as it gets, so... But everyone has their preferences.
