I don't think it's fair to the dogs to leave them locked in a vehicle for so long. Can you find a dog sitter please. Especially on a ski mountaineering trip unfamiliar with the mountain where many things could delay your already lengthy return. regardless of trip knowledge, its still unfair to the dogs for such a long hike. I don't mean any harm here, just the same advice I would give a friend contemplating the same...

Dogs are property. He can do with them what he wishes.

A person is guilty of animal cruelty in the second degree if, under circumstances not amounting to first degree animal cruelty, the person knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence inflicts unnecessary suffering or pain upon an animal.

Skis are property, a dog is your buddy.
