From Ken Kramer of NWAC (weather service text excerpt): ...THERE WAS ALSO A VERY LARGE NATURAL AVALANCHE ON MT HOOD WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...DEPOSITING AVALANCHE DEBRIS ESTIMATED NEAR 70 FEET DEEP.
Very nice. Let's see if you trees can take this.

The DOT updated their photos. It looks like a second slide covered their snowblower. Scary.I just herd on the radio that a slide buried rout 2 under 15 feet of snow near Steven's pass. Anyone know where it slid? Anything else big go?
Edit: Pics are up on the DOT flickr site:

Is the D.O.T. exempt from the laws of nature ? Who in there right mind would climb into a Tonka truck and work in the path of a tsunami during these conditions? This sends the wrong message to everyone. What would happen to this employee if he refused this potential death sentence. What motivating force is more important than the preservation of human life ? Maybe $ ,perhaps they didn't read the N.W.A.C. report . Help me understand. X
