I'm flying into Denver late thursday night. Anybody have a suggestion for two quality days of touring? Something in the direction of Colorado Springs would be preferable.

In talking with some locals, There's plenty of skiing to be done around Pike's, but do your homework, as winds are often high, and the snowpack can be sketch, also bring a packable oxygen canister.

Contact: “MW88888888” Used to live around Issaquah and posted numerous TR on TAY. Then moved to CO and periodically will post a TR on TAY. MW8888….. should be a great source for tours and conditions in CO.

Was just poking about the Cog Railway's page this morning - apparently they run all year, conditions permitting, if you want mechanized oxygen deprivation. Road might be open partway too (hard to tell from the web)?
You might find www.utepasscams.com/pikes-peak-webcam.html interesting too. So windy there... G'luck :).

Yup, if you're going to the Springs, the Pikes road can't be beat. See from my own visit:

I'd head the back way to Fairplay/Breckenridge from Springs if Pikes doesn't interest you. That opens a whole other can pof worms.
But I'd stick to Pikes if it were me and I didn't want to drive. Fun place.
Snowpack last two weeks getting stronger, but still in transition. As noted, be very wary of CO snowpack.
