Give me a call, Nolan and I are doing the same thing. I agree with Good2Go, if you want to do anything off the groomed trail you'll need something with more power and a longer track. If get a sled with EFI you won't have to worry about carbs being dialed in for different altitudes. Look for something that is almost stock, the more upgrades they have the more problems they usually have.

GerryH- Depends on how new of a sled you want. I've seen 04 Ski Doo 800 for as low as $3000 and 08 for $6500. There are some good deals now since the season is winding down.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions.

I'm pretty sure I'll shelve this idea. The more I think about it...The significant expense of a sled, plus the added hassle to my weekends, just does not seem to factor out to be additional fun for the handful of times it will get used per season.

One day last summer I told my wife I was buying a Porsche. She responded with "Ok, then I get a snowmobile!"

That ended that dream. :(
