Polar bears filmed with spy cameras on skis, WOW! was created by Amar Andalkar
Just watched a very interesting (really amazing!) segment on 60 Minutes, about polar bears being filmed in the Arctic at close range (sometimes under 1 ft, or even touching) with remote-controlled spy cameras. This includes cameras disguised as snowballs, snow drifts, icebergs, and one mounted on skis with electric motors that quietly propel it to 40 mph:
It's the work of John Downer, a British filmmaker ( www.jdp.co.uk/ ). The full program produced by BBC is called Polar Bear: Spy On The Ice, and it will air in the US on March 10 at 10pm on Animal Planet (channel 43 in Seattle, Comcast): press.discovery.com/us/apl/programs/polar-bear-spy-on-the-ice/
Here's the 60 Minutes video segment (14 minutes, plus ads): A rare view of polar bears - 60 Minutes - CBS News

The elephant cam and the dung heap cam weren't bad either . . .

My personal favorite polar bear footage, courtesy Børge Ousland, (mad, mad tough Norwegian polarnaut).
