Is it acceptable to post a TR? was created by Kyle Miller
I understand posting avalanche conditions and a stability report using slope angles and steepness but I was wondering how people feel about others posting TR's when following already laid out skin tracks for the entirety of a tour? East Peak, The Slot and Stone Man are one thing but say a random traverse into seldom ventured areas.

Why not?

As long as you have pictures, of course.

That's an odd question, it brings to mind more questions than answers. I think the tracks should not come into play. What if they are a week old tracks?

If there is already a report for a given day trip to The Slot then I would just add my comments or pics but if I do the Slot on Monday I'd make a new TR.

Not enough information to answer the question. Same skin track but was the descent different? If two groups stay in the same skin track to the top of a peak but ski different aspects for example.
"Seldom ventured areas "infers that the tour is notable so I presume your question relates to who should get accolades?

A great question, an interesting one, and very broad!

If you were exploring a canyon somewhere and stumble upon "someones private crag" do you post this on cc? Do you go to the gym and tell all your friends? Just as in rock climbing, there is a few "private runs" protected by the old gaurd.

I left north bend and now live on the i-da-ho montana border. I think at times its the human thing to do-to grant access to safer terain to the younger generation of skiers and boarders.

Its a double edged sword; "maybe you can google it" is something that would make a great joan-jet song-sang disdanefully.

So in the broadness of this, I think you are a conscientous person by posting this question-an admiral trait in a mountain person.

For purely selfish reasons, I do not like to see TR's for places I regularly ski around Mt Hood. Yeah, there are the regular places, but I hope to never see a TR for the under the radar kind of spot.
