Kensio Tape

Anyone ever use Rock Tape or any other Kenesio tape? Just wondering if it's worth 20 bucks a roll. I'm still battling a torn MCL and wondering if it will help with support, pain and/or healing.

Jill and I used Kenesio tape last year but it was applied by a physical therapist.  Depending upon the use, it can be helpful but the key would be the application by someone who really knows what they are doing. 

I was going to say the same, Zap. If you know how to apply it (and your PT could certainly teach you how to do it) it can help support and align the joint. I wouldn't do it without some advice from a PT or sports medicine doc though, since you can do some damage if you tape things in a position that increases strain/wear & tear.

I've had some great success with Kensio tape for small pulls and strains. Many Active Release Chiropractors are big fans. The Docs at Regenexx who have done the recent repair on my knee injury from over a year ago have taken a different approach, using isolated growth factors and stem cells from my own blood and injecting them into the torn mcl and acl as well as inducing regrowth in the torn and fractured meniscus. Time will tell how well it works in my decrepit state, however at this stage it seemed far more attractive than a knee replacement, which my award winning orthopedic surgeon said was the only alternative. The Regenexx clinic in Denver so far lived up to all I had heard. Maybe we could consider a rehab thread in light of all the old and some of the young getting banged around and beat up lately.
