Carrying a warmer heavier sleeping bag is worth the extra weight. I consider getting a cozy nights rest important to endurance and success on an overnighter.

For the lightest ( and most expensive) mountaineering clothing , tents, sleeping bags, ice-axes and crampons go to this store in Seattle and speak to Jim Nelson, a legendary PNW alpinist.
Bring fat wallet and handkerchief to wipe away your drool.
He has professional grade scale in store and weighs everything.

Here is my 3 step process to trimming weight on multi-day tours:

1) Drop the six pack and move to a flask of bourbon
2) Trim all the fingernails and toenails and perhaps a real close shave
3) Stuff gear in my partners pack when he is putting his boots on (just not the bourbon)

Starting with the shovel, probe, crampons, backpack, sleeping pad, ice axe, and a few other items and was looking for any suggestions anyone may have in products related.

I use a NeoAir pad. It is comfortable, light and ultra compact. Not as warm as the downmat & synamat which I have also used, but so much lighter and more compact. Not cheap, I think foam is still the best insulation value for weight/money but bulky and not as comfortable.

Sleeping pad.
I use Exped down filled 7 pump,
Sooooo comfortable and light and compacts very small.....such great insulation off the snow you can get away with a lighter bag.
Pricey, but trust me.....it will change your winter camping comfort level for ever.
