Outdated technology: Riva II was created by ughly skier
The insulators on my cable pieces for my Riva II's are wearing out! water has gotten in and the cables themselves are deteriorating to the point of breaking, leading to a wild ride down Serpentine last week. My quest is twofold: Does anybody have any old Riva II cables? And, I have a pair of Madshus voss 3/4 length metal edge skis I use to tour and make turns with. Any recommendations on a light weight rear throw cable binding?

There's a slim chance I have some old Riva II cables. I'll shoot you a PM if I do.

Voile 3-pin cable.

I have some, but they are in Skykomish. If you don't find any this week, I can grab them next weekend.

Past time to replace! You can probably replace them yourself very easily with 3-pins if the toe plates are not loose and by using some epoxy on the new bindings.
My wife broke her Riva toe plate on her Touteneiges 20 yrs ago in the Tatoosh and she weighed only 105 lbs; luckily she had some bailing wire to wrap around it or it would have been a rough time getting out. I broke the cables on both the left and right bindings during one run (superficially both the tubing and cables were in good condition, and had been regularly lube, but close exam afterward showed oxidation) on my Karhu Catamounts skiing 9-1-1 in the Mazama back bowl on a warm spring morning; by the time I was able to scoot down the slope on my butt the snow had softened to knee deep and the threat of a wet avalanche loomed.
My wife uses heavy-duty 3 pins (no cables) on her Madshus Voss, and skis them with old Merrell Ultras; I also skied my Madhsus Voss with NNN-BC and SNS-BC bindings and boots until last year when my foot got too large for my boot. You can buy brand new H-D 3-pins cheaply and probably pick up a uksed pair for free. I'd bee leery on continuing to ski on those aluminum toe plates. Just IMHO.
