Pettigrew Companion Rescue Workshop, Alpental 1/15 was created by Jim_Clement
My wife and I attended the Companion Rescue workshop at Alpental this morning. This was an excellent 3 hour beacon, probe, and shovel workshop at the Alpental Beacon Basin sponsored by the Pettigrew Foundation and the Alpental canine crew, BARK. Big kudos to Gib, Bram and John (Stimbuck) for leading the workshop. We're not just talking buried transmitters here - they went to the extra effort of also burying a receiver-equipped mannequin so we could get a realistic-feeling probe strike. Someone commented that such a workshop could easily command a $100 fee, probably accurate, but thanks to the Pettigrew Foundation and BARK there was no charge.
Similar Companion Rescue workshops and other workshops are being held this winter at Alpental, Mission, and Stevens but might already be sold out. Check with the David Pettigrew Foundation, www.thedavidpettigrewmemorialfoundation.com/

Sadly the spots for that session filled up, then today most of the folks who reserved them failed to attend. Anyone reading this who has reservations for Pettigrew educational events, please email the Foundation if you decide not to use them.
If you wanted to attend an event, and find it fully booked, you might consider showing up anyway to see if there is space available.
The Pettigrew family was at Alpental today, providing information about the Foundation. They have more ideas in the works, and would welcome tax deductible donations to help fund them.
